Philadelphia Eagles Waive CB Cliff Harris

Former Oregon standout cornerback Cliff Harris has been waived by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Philadelphia Eagles have waived former Oregon Ducks cornerback Cliff Harris, Eagles Insider reported Sunday. The rookie had been signed as an undrafted free agent, but was cut as Philadelphia is forced to pare the roster down to 75 players this week.

Harris was a standout in college who many believed had early-round talent. He led the nation in punt-return touchdowns in 2010 with four, while also picking off five passes and amassing 33 tackles. His accomplishments earned him an All-America selection.

Harris’ football career took a downward turn after he was dismissed from the Oregon football team after a number of legal troubles, including a citation for marijuana possession. Those issues led many teams around the league to lose interest in Harris, despite his many athletic talents.
