NFL Roster Cuts Deadline Coming On Monday

The deadline for teams to cut their roster down to 75 players comes on Monday at 4 p.m. (ET). The current roster limit is 90 players which means there will be 400-plus players out on the open market as teams cut their way to 75 players. Many teams have started the process of releasing the necessary players. You can track those cuts here.

The next step after the Monday deadline will be looking forward to a Friday deadline to cut down to 53 players. Every NFL team will play their final preseason game on Wednesday or Thursday of this week and then make nearly two dozen roster cuts by Friday night.

The deadline to cut down from 75 to 53 players is Friday night at 9 p.m. (ET). That means more than 1,100 players will hit free agency between last weekend and next weekend. Not only will teams be releasing players to hit the roster limit but they’ll also be signing players that other teams have released.

It’s a busy time in the NFL, a mini-free agency if you will.
