The Pittsburgh Steelers have made their first round of cuts to start whittling the roster on Monday.
NFL Cuts 2012: Pittsburgh Steelers Trim Roster Down
According to Bob Labriola, the following players have been released:
- LB Ryan Baker
- DT Mike Blanc
- DT Kade Weston
- WR Jimmy Young
- WR Juamorris Stewart
- WR Paul Cox
- CB Andre Freeman
- CB Walter McFadden
- K Dan Hrapmann
- LB Mortty Ivy
- T Kyle Jolly
- LS Matt Katula
- TE Justin Peelle
- TE Jamie McCoy
- S Myron Rolle
None of the names above are a big surprise, although Hrapmann was showing that he could compete for the job with a perfect preseason to this point.
With those players being released, the Steelers have the squad down to the mandated 75 players before Monday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline. Of course, Pittsburgh could release another player or two from the team if someone gets cut that Mike Tomlin and co. have interest in.
