Titans Quarterback Battle: Jake Locker Struggling

The Tennessee Titans have a quarterback tussle on their hands in training camp: either second-year player Jake Locker will prevail and take the reins of the team for good, or Matt Hasselbeck will hold on to the job to begin the season, at least. After Locker started strong, Hasselbeck came back on Thursday night, standing out in a scrimmage, according to The Tennessean's Jim Wyatt.

Hasselback went 9-for-9 in team passing drills on Thursday, and is 26-of-31 in total over the last two practices; Locker, meanwhile, is 9-for-30 in the last two practices, and was 1-for-10 on Thursday.

Titans coach Mike Munchak isn’t about to tip his hand, either. “We’re in training camp and there’s a lot of ups and downs in camp and (Locker) will be fine,” he told reporters.

Hasselbeck started all 16 games for the Titans in 2011, but Locker saw action in five games, and threw four touchdowns to no interceptions.
