Wells began training camp on the PUP list while recovering from January surgery on his right knee. Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt had said he hoped to have Wells ready for the team's Aug. 17 preseason game against the Oakland Raiders. The running back will presumably be ready for the game now that he is back in practice.
Wells rushed for 1,047 yards last season, surpassing 1,000 yards for the first time in his NFL career. He averaged 4.3 yards per carry on his way to scoring 10 touchdowns while playing in 14 games.
