NFL Injury Report: Dwight Freeney, Jake Locker Among Those Hurting In AFC South

The Titans saw three of their key players get hurt on Sunday.

With just one win from its four teams, the AFC South did not look like one of the stronger divisions in the NFL. For several of those teams, those losses came with injuries to key players.

The Tennessee Titans got hit the hardest in their 34-13 loss to the New England Patriots. The Titans' starting quarterback, Jake Locker, left the game on Sunday with a mild left shoulder separation. With the injury coming to his non-throwing arm, the Titans expect him back for Week 2, according to The Tennessean.

On the same play that Locker got hurt, receiver Nate Washington suffered a leg injury. The severity of the injury is unclear right now, according to Titans Online.

On the defensive side of the ball, linebacker Colin McCarthy was in a walking boot after the game, says The Tennessean. But McCarthy said he just tweaked his ankle and is fine.

For the Jacksonville Jaguars, it wasn't a great day for Rashad Jennings, who suffered a knee injury and saw Maurice Jones-Drew come back strong. While the Jaguars don't think the injury is serious, according to The Florida Times-Union, he should still lose a chunk of his carries going forward.

The Indianapolis Colts saw Dwight Freeney leave with an ankle injury, and his status for Week 2 is up in the air. An MRI is expected for the veteran defensive end, and he is listed as day-to-day for now, according to The Herald Bulletin.

Aside from getting an easy 30-10 win, the Houston Texans avoided significant injuries on Sunday.
