Ryan Mathews Injury: Chargers RB Practices Less, Still Day-To-Day
Head coach Norv Turner said that there was no setback to his recovery and he expects the progression to continue. Mathews was held to mental reps only and did not participate in any team drills.
“It’s just the plan we have,” said Turner. “He worked pretty hard to the side. He just didn’t practice. We’ll get him out there as soon as we can.”
Getting the former Fresno State Bulldog out on the field can't come fast enough for the Chargers, who struggled mightily in the running game against the Oakland Raiders on Monday night, gaining just 32 net yards rushing.
