St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Rodger Saffold will not return in Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins, after injuring his left knee during the Rams' second possession.
Rodger Saffold Injury: Rams OT Injures Left Knee, Will Not Return
Saffold was previously announced as questionable to return by the Rams, but was since ruled out to come back into the game. This marks the second consecutive week that Saffold left a game due to injury, as he was carted off the field in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions with a neck injury. That injury didn't end up being as serious as it first appeared, and Saffold returned to the practice field mid-week before being activated prior to Sunday's game.
It will be interesting to see if Wayne Hunter, who has replaced Saffold in each of the first two games, can hold down the fort. Hunter was a full-time starter for the first time in his career a year ago, despite being in the league since 2003, and struggled with the Jets before being shipped to St. Louis in the offseason.
