Jets Vs. Steelers, Week 2: New York’s Offensive Struggles Put Things In Perspective

Behind a shaky offensive performance Sunday, the New York Jets fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-10, at Heinz Field. The loss dropped the Jets to 1-1 on the season and raised some concerns about the direction their offense, which was stagnant after looking almost unstoppable in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills.

Jets' quarterback Mark Sanchez managed to take care of the ball, but failed to make any big plays in his 10-for-27, 138-yard, one-touchdown performance. New York got on the scoreboard early, however, failed to score a point after a second-quarter field goal by kicker Nick Folk, who nailed a 38-yarder that helped the Jets take an early 10-6 lead.

From there, it was all Pittsburgh and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Despite the hairy showing, however, Jets fans are staying positive as the SB Nation blog Gang Green Nation is taking a look around the NFL and putting things perspective.

That's the nature of the NFL. Some weeks you look great. Others you look lousy. It's way too early to have a feel for what kind of season this is going to be. I saw a lot of people go way overboard after one good game last week against the Bills thinking this team is a juggernaut based on a short span of great football. Now some might go overboard in the other direction after today's loss. The truth is this Jets team is probably neither as good as it looked last week nor as bad as it did today.
