The Cowboys offense looked like it hadn’t practiced all week, accounting for just 305 total yards and most of the team’s 13 penalties for 105 yards, but the Dallas defense showed up time and again on Sunday, holding the Buccaneers to just 166 yards of total offense. Bailey was 3-for-3 on field goal attempts.
With the win, Dallas goes to 2-1 and the Buccaneers drop to 1-2.

Clayborn, a 2011 first round pick, will be sorely missed by the Buccaneers during his absence. The team has already announced that he’ll sit out the remainder of Sunday’s game against Dallas, although the long-term prognosis is unclear. Only in his second NFL season, Clayborn has never missed a game.
Last year, Clayborn recorded 42 tackles, seven sacks and three forced fumbles as a rookie, but he has been fairly quiet early this season. In the first two games of the season, the Iowa product recorded just one tackle with zero sacks.

It’s routine to see NFL officials use their hat as a marker when a player runs out of bounds before coming back in, but why the official elected to throw it so far into the field of play is beyond comprehension. This marks the third straight week the NFL’s replacement refs will be criticised, and the more bizarre events like this take place, the harder it becomes to justify that they’re just like their regular officials.
Thankfully for all parties, Ogletree wasn’t injured, and the hat didn’t become a turning point in a close game between Dallas and Tampa Bay.
