The search to replace Norv Turner is becoming more aggressive this week, as the San Diego Chargers are set to interview two new candidates for the vacant head coaching position. Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy and Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians will be in town over the next few days to meet with Chargers general manager Tom Telesco.
Chargers head coach search: Mike McCoy, Bruce Arians to interview this week
San Diego is picking up the pace in its search for a new head coach. Here’s the latest on the Chargers coaching vacancy.

McCoy became available after the Broncos dropped Saturday's game in double overtime to the Baltimore Ravens. He helped lead Peyton Manning and the Denver offense to average scoring the second-most points in the entire league. McCoy has been with the Broncos since 2009. He is set to interview with the Chargers on Monday.
Arians will make his visit on Wednesday. He led the Colts to a 9-3 record during his interim stint while Chuck Pagano was undergoing cancer treatment, guiding Indianapolis’ offense to average 22.3 points per game in his first year with the franchise.
Telesco, who just joined the Chargers, previously served as the director of player personnel with the Colts. His ties to Indianapolis may give Arians an edge in this race, but it’s clear San Diego is looking for someone with an offensive mind at this point.
Ken Whisenhunt and Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden interviewed over the weekend as well. We can imagine the Chargers would like to narrow down their search soon to get the team on track for 2013.
