The San Diego Chargers have interviewed several head coaching candidates, but an abrupt change in plans leads some to believe that Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is the the favorite.
Chargers coaching rumors: Is Mike McCoy the favorite?
The Chargers interviewed Mike McCoy on Monday, and he may just be the favorite to land the job.

When McCoy unexpectedly became available following the Broncos' loss on Saturday, the Chargers rescheduled their interview with Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians to meet with McCoy first. McCoy is a candidate in Arizona and elsewhere, and San Diego reportedly wanted to meet with him before he had a chance to talk to other teams. The Chargers also flew to meet McCoy on Tuesday, something they haven't done for other candidates.
Even though his interview was rescheduled, Arians does remain a possibility for San Diego. However, his age may be against him, as the Chargers appear to be focused on younger candidates. The 60-year-old Arians is the oldest candidate to interview, a full 20 years older than McCoy.
San Diego also interviewed Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. Bradley is scheduled for a second interview with the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday, and is set to meet with the Jacksonville Jaguars later in the week.
