Broncos owner Pat Bowlen to fans: ‘My heart aches for you’

Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen wrote a letter to Broncos fans, telling them his “heart aches for you.”

Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen is taking his team's Divisional round loss to the Baltimore Ravens hard. Just days after Denver's overtime loss, Bowlen wrote a letter to Broncos fans everywhere, saying, "my heart aches for you."

After signing Peyton Manning last offseason, expectations for Denver's 2012 season shot through the roof. Even though the Broncos were coming off a successful season that boasted an AFC West title and Wild Card round win, the addition of Manning made the Broncos legitimate contenders in the AFC.

Denver started the season 2-3, but then rattled off 11 straight wins, en route to capturing the AFC West title and the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Bowlen noted toward the end of his letter that he stated publicly that he wanted 2012 to be a great season. Though the Broncos finished with 13 wins and another AFC West title, he concedes that 2012 was a “very good season,” and told Broncos fans that “you and I know what a great season looks like.”
