The future of Michael Vick with the Philadelphia Eagles is as uncertain as ever. Many believed that new head coach Chip Kelly gave Vick a much better chance to stay on with the Eagles as their starting quarterback, but his status is very much up in the air.
Chip Kelly undecided on Michael Vick’s future with the Eagles
New coach Chip Kelly is unsure if Michael Vick will be the future quarterback of the Eagles or not.

Vick and his athleticism could be a good fit with Kelly’s high-tempo offense, but Vick has a history of injury problems and is due $15.5 million in 2013 with $3 million becoming guaranteed in the near future.
When asked about Vick and the quarterback situation, Kelly said, “I don’t have the answer.“ He went on to compliment Vick’s talent and say that he has been watching him since he was in college, but that was as far as he’d go. Kelly continued:
“I don’t have any preconceived notions of anyone. I want to meet Michael and I want to talk to Michael. And I want to watch the tape. But there haven’t been too many quarterbacks in the history of this game with the skill set that he has. I’m in the process of evaluating everyone on this team.”
In 10 games with the Eagles in 2012, Vick threw for 2,362 yards, 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and ran for 332 yards. When Vick went down with a concussion, rookie Nick Foles filled in and served as the starter until his own injury. In seven games Foles threw for 1,699 yards with six touchdowns and five interceptions and only ran for 42 yards.
