The Philadelphia Eagles have hired former Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur to join their coaching staff, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Shurmur is likely to be the team’s new offensive coordinator.

While it is expected that Shurmur will be the offensive coordinator for the Eagles, an official title for Shumur hasn’t been announced.
Shurmur is the latest addition to the coaching staff of Chip Kelly, who was introduced as the Eagles’ new coach last week. It was reported that Kelly will handle the play-calling duties for the Eagles, just like he did while he was the head coach at Oregon.
Shurmur was the Browns’ coach for two seasons. He led Cleveland to a 9-23 overall record in that span and finished fourth in the AFC North in both seasons.
Philadelphia will be familiar for Shurmur, as he has spent time with the Eagles before. From 1999 to 2001, he was the team’s tight ends coach. From 2002-2008, Shurmur was the quarterbacks coach.
