Steve Keim set to interview for Jaguars’ GM job

The Jaguars have already interviewed two candidates for their vacant GM position and Keim is set to become the third.

The Jaguars will interview Arizona Cardinals' Vice President of Player Personnel Steve Keim this week for their general manager position left vacant by the firing of Gene Smith, according to a report from Jason La Canfora on Tuesday night.

Keim has spent his 14-year career with the Cardinals after originally joining the team as a regional scout prior to the 1999 season. During his career with the team, Keim served as the director of college scouting and director of player personnel before he was promoted to the vice president of player personnel in the 2012 off-season.

Jaguars' owner Shahid Khan has wasted little time beginning his search for a new general manager. He already flew to Georgia on Monday to speak with Falcons' executive Dave Caldwell and California on Tuesday to speak with 49ers' executive Tom Gamble.

Keim was an offensive lineman at NC State before brief stints with the Miami Dolphins and the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos.
