Even though the Seattle Seahawks lost to the Atlanta Falcons in the Divisional round, Russell Wilson's season isn't quite over yet. Wilson was named to the NFC's Pro Bowl roster on Monday, after Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan withdrew from the game because of injury concerns.

Wilson's 2012 season was nothing short of terrific. Wilson beat out Matt Flynn for the starting quarterback job, even though the Seahawks invested a lot of money into Flynn.
As a rookie, Wilson completed 64.1% of his passes for 3,118 yards, while throwing for 26 touchdowns (tying a rookie record) and throwing just 10 interceptions. Wilson added 489 yards rushing -- averaging 5.2 yards per carry -- while adding four rushing touchdowns.
Needless to say, Wilson’s season was nothing shy of superb, and an invitation to the Pro Bowl is certainly well deserved for the former Wisconsin Badger.
Wilson led the Seahawks back to the playoffs, and was a major reason for Seattle's success this season. The Seahawks finished 11-5, claiming one of the two wild card spots in the NFC. Wilson led the Seahawks to a Wild Card round win over the NFC East champion Washington Redskins -- a game held in Washington D.C.
Seattle's passing offense under Wilson ranked No. 27 in the NFL, averaging just 189.4 yards per game. As expected, Marshawn Lynch remained the focal point of Seattle's offense, and consequently, Seattle boasted the No. 3 rushing attack in the NFL, averaging 161.2 yards per game on the ground -- a total that Wilson added to himself, with his 489 rushing yards.
Wilson performed at a high level during Seattle’s playoff run. In two playoff games, Wilson completed 62.9% of his passes for 572 yards and three touchdowns, averaging over nine yards per attempt. Wilson also added 127 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Without a doubt, Wilson surpassed any expectations that could have been levied on him. Wilson was selected by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft, with the No. 75 overall pick. Wilson as the sixth quarterback selected in the draft, behind Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, Ryan Tannehill, Brandon Weeden, and Brock Osweiler. There's little doubting the success of Luck and RGIII, but fans of the Dolphins, Browns and even Broncos have to wonder if they'd rather have selected Wilson than Tannehill, Weeden or Osweiler.
