After the Redskins suffered a 24-14 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday night, London Fletcher was immediately hit with questions regarding his future in the NFL. The 37-year-old linebacker wasn’t ready to make a decision quite yet, and said he will wait to decide what he will do going forward.
London Fletcher: ‘I’ll take some time’ to decide on NFL future
London Fletcher is going to wait to decide if he will return for his 16th NFL season.

“I’ll take some time to let the emotions of the season kind of get away, refresh a little bit and then sit down with my family and make the decision from there as far as whether I’ll continue to play or not,” Fletcher told the Washington Post after the game.
Now the third-oldest player in the league, Fletcher continues to play at a high level, constantly making big plays for Washington’s defense. He finished with a team-high 15 tackles in the Redskins’ first-round loss. Fletcher finished with 139 tackles, five interceptions and three sacks during the regular season.
The NFL is already losing one star linebacker in Ray Lewis, so Fletcher’s departure would create another significant void among the position today. It’s hard to imagine he wouldn’t want to return, though, to a team with such potential.
