The Carolina Panthers general manager search is underway and the Panthers will begin conducting interviews with candidates on Tuesday. The first candidate to interview will be New York Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross, according to a report from Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.
Panthers GM Search: Marc Ross among candidates set to interview
Carolina will begin interviewing general manager candidates Tuesday, beginning with Marc Ross of the New York Giants.
Ross, who is scheduled to interview on Tuesday, is one of the more sought-after general manager candidates. In addition to the Panthers, Ross has already interviewed with the New York Jets, San Diego Chargers and Jacksonville Jaguars. Ross is one of six candidates expected to interview for the position. The other candidates include Montreal Alouettes general manager Jim Popp, Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton, Tennessee Titans vice president of player personnel Lake Dawson, Giants senior pro personnel analyst Dave Gettleman and current Panthers interim general manager Brandon Beane.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen said Ross is the favorite to land the job, while Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk pegged Gettleman as the favorite. All six of the interviews are expected to be completed by Saturday.
