NFL reinstates Ravens CB Asa Jackson

The NFL has reinstated suspended cornerback Asa Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.

Mitch Stringer-US PRESSWIRE

The NFL has reinstated Baltimore Ravens cornerback Asa Jackson following his suspension for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. Jackson was suspended without pay for four games for "unauthorized usage of Adderall," according to reports that came out at the time of suspension.

Jackson, a rookie fifth-round pick out of Cal Poly, played in just three games this season when the suspension was handed out, so it’s not as though the Ravens suffered a huge loss in his absence.

On Sunday, the Ravens received a one-week roster exemption for Jackson, meaning he can practice with the team in the leadup to their playoff game against the Denver Broncos, but he cannot play until the team makes a corresponding roster move.

The exemption is through Jan. 14, so expect a decision before then. Jackson lost $91,764 in pay due to the four-week suspension. Multiple players have been handed suspensions for testing positive for Adderall this season, including Brandon Browner, Richard Sherman, Eric Wright and Will Hill.
