New England Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork appears to have had a successful surgery on his torn Achilles tendon. His wife tweeted this picture out shortly after he underwent surgery.

Wilfork tore his Achilles in Sunday night's win over the Atlanta Falcons. He will be out for the rest of the season. It will be the first time he's missed a game or more since 2009. Wilfork has spent his entire 10-year career with the Patriots and is a vital part of their defensive line.

Without Wilfork, the Patriots will turn to either Joe Vellano or Chris Jones, with veteran Tommy Kelly also in the mix. Vellano was signed as an undrafted free agent rookie in the offseason. Jones was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kelly signed a two-year deal with the team. The group of replacements will attempt to match Wilfork's production when they take on the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 5.
