Broncos vs. Jaguars score update: Jacksonville hanging around in second half

The Jaguars aren’t getting run off the field so far. Will things stay interesting in the fourth quarter?

The Denver Broncos were expected to destroy the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. They entered the game with one of the largest point spreads in NFL history. Midway through the third quarter, the Broncos are winning, but Jacksonville is keeping things close and interesting. Denver leads by only nine points, 28-19.

It looked like another one of those games for Jacksonville when Peyton Manning threw for two quick touchdowns at the start. The Jaguars didn't quit, though, kicking two field goals and making a couple of key defensive stops early on. They capped off the first half with a 59-yard pick-six by Paul Posluszny, cutting Denver's lead to 14-12. The Broncos went into halftime with the hometown crowd booing despite holding a lead.

Manning got back on the wagon in the third quarter, and Knowshon Moreno punched it in from the goal line to give Denver a 21-12 lead, but the Jaguars again refused to quit. Chad Henne and company marched down the field on an eight-play, 80-yard drive that ended with a 5-yard score by Maurice Jones-Drew. Moreno scored again to give Denver a 28-19 lead, but the Jaguars have shown that they won't be pushovers this time. Win or lose, they could make some people very rich in Vegas today.
