Bruce Arians isn’t a fan of Thursday Night Football

Arizona’s head coach would not mind seeing the mid-week game go away.

The Arizona Cardinals are playing in Thursday night's contest against the Seattle Seahawks at home this week, and it is not something head coach Bruce Arians is pleased about.

Arians, whose team is coming off a loss versus the San Francisco 49ers at Candlestick Park last Sunday, thinks this whole setup is hurting the product, as he talked about on Sirius XM Radio.

“I don’t think it is really fair to the players,” Arians said. “Especially the veteran players. I mean we have finished up most of our gameplan and practice (Tuesday) which would be a normal player day off.”

The game is very important for Arizona, which comes in 3-3 and could really boost itself with a divisional win after dropping its first two NFC West contests. With a victory, the Cardinals would move to only one game behind Seattle for the division lead with a game still left to play against the Seahawks.

This meeting starts a three-game homestand for Arizona, which also includes a bye week after playing the Atlanta Falcons next week. Not having to leave home for a month, perhaps the Cardinals can make some noise.
