Calais Campbell injury: Cardinals DE confident he’ll play Thursday

Amazingly, it appears Campbell might play four days after what appeared to be a very serious injury.

Arizona Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell says he can play Thursday night against the Seattle Seahawks, according to Arizonasports.com.

Campbell looked severely injured versus the San Francisco 49ers last Sunday, staying down for several minutes while some of the 49ers fans did the wave. Campbell was eventually taken off the field on a stretcher, dealing with some numbness and tingling.

However, Campbell now proclaims he is ready to play once again, only four days later. Per the article:

“This is a game you don’t want to miss,” he said. “I’m feeling good. I know my body. My body is feeling good, so that’s all I’m really worried about is how I feel. If I had felt like I couldn’t protect myself or go out there and play the game the way I’m supposed to I wouldn’t go out there. It’s all about how my personal feeling of my body and understanding it and just being true to myself.”

Campbell has practiced the last two days on a limited basis, and head coach Bruce Arians says he is officially listed as questionable. That said, all indications point to Campbell being in the lineup. Should something unforeseen happen and he can not go, his spot will be taken by Ronald Talley.

On the young season, Campbell has been a force alongside Dan Williams and Darnell Dockett, racking up 18 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
