Steelers acquire Levi Brown in trade with Cardinals
The trade of Levi Brown from Arizona to Pittsburgh is official.
Brown played for Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley in Arizona, so it is quite possible that he is already familiar with the terminology in Pittsburgh's playbook. He will take the Steelers' bye week to learn the system and will likely start against the Jets in Week 6. Brown was taken by the Cardinals with the fifth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.
For the Cardinals, the trade leaves the team inexperienced at the left tackle position. The Cardinals will start second-year lineman Bradley Sowell at left tackle against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, according to Kent Somers of AZCentral Sports. The 24-year old has played in just 14 career games and will make his first start on Sunday. He spent last season with the Colts appearing in 10 games under current Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians. Sowell went undrafted out of Mississippi last year.
