Arian Foster says hamstring injury ‘doesn’t seem too severe’

Houston is hoping it will be a quick recovery for its best player.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster left Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs after the first possession of the game with a hamstring injury, and did not return.

Still, Foster said after the game that the injury does not appear to be a major problem, and something that should not be a long-term hindrance, according to ESPN.com.

“It’s a hamstring,” said Foster, who entered the game leading the AFC with 531 yards rushing. “It doesn’t seem too severe right now, so we will just play it out.”

Without Foster in the lineup, Ben Tate got a heavy share of the action and gained 50 yards on 15 carries in the 17-16 loss against Kansas City. On the season, Foster has been dealing with a bit of a hamstring problem for weeks but has still managed to gain 542 rushing yards on 4.5 yards per carry.

Luckily, for the reeling Texans and the ailing Foster, Houston has a bye week coming up. From the sound of it, Foster should not much time if any once the team returns to playing games in a few weeks.
