The New York Giants finally earned a win in the 2013 NFL season, beating the hapless Minnesota Vikings 23-7 at MetLife Stadium on Monday night.

New York finally won a game, beating Minnesota in an ugly affair.

New York did not look great by any stretch, but found a way to topple Josh Freeman and the Vikings. Eli Manning threw for 200 yards and a touchdown to Reuben Randle, and more importantly did not throw an interception. The Giants only rushed for 64 yards on 32 carries, but it was enough to get the job done.
Over at Big Blue View, Ed Valentine wrote about New York finally hitting the opposing quarterback a little bit:
The Giants got only one sack of Freeman Monday, by Justin Tuck, but had 13 hits on Freeman. They made him uncomfortable in the pocket, and that was good enough.
For Minnesota, the loss drops it to 1-5 and likely out of any playoff contention. The Vikings were flat bad, turning the ball over three times and only having the ball for 23:38.
Unfortunately for head coach Leslie Frazier, Freeman was beyond awful completing 20 of 53 passes for 190 yards and an interception. Adrian Peterson was not much better, gaining 28 yards on 13 carries.

With the Vikings starting Josh Freeman, a quarterback that they had only signed a couple of weeks ago, the team inexplicably put together a game plan that involved only thirteen carries (and 28 yards) for Adrian Peterson, and a whopping fifty-three pass attempts from Freeman. Freeman only completed 20 of those attempts for 190 yards and an interception.
