The Detroit Lions host the Dallas Cowboys in Week 8. Both teams are 4-3 and looking to gain ground in their respective playoff races.
Cowboys vs. Lions 2013 picks and predictions: Experts split between two teams
The Lions are slightly favored to beat the Cowboys this week, but it’s far from a consensus among NFL analysts.
The Cowboys picked up an important NFC East victory last week, shutting down the Philadelphia Eagles, 17-3. They now sit at first place in their division. The defense has struggled with consistency this season, but they showed up in a big way even without DeMarcus Ware, making Chip Kelly's offense a complete non-factor.
The Lions lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, 27-24, and dropped out of first place in the NFC North. The good news is that Calvin Johnson appears to be over his knee injury, going off for nine catches, 155 yards and two touchdowns.
Online experts are pretty split on picking this game. Five out of eight ESPN analysts are going with the Cowboys, while there’s a bigger consensus at CBS Sports. Seven panelists are picking the Lions, with only Will Brinson and Jeremy Eisenberg going with Dallas. Over at Yahoo Sports, both experts are taking the Lions, and the fan poll is also selecting Detroit.
