Update: DeMarco Murray is not dressing for Sunday’s game against the Lions, according to 105.3 The Fan’s Mike Fisher. He will be inactive.
DeMarco Murray injury: Cowboys RB inactive for Week 8
The Cowboys will be without starting running back DeMarco Murray on Sunday.

The Cowboys may be lacking in the running game in Week 8. Starting running back DeMarco Murray is "very doubtful" for the Cowboys' matchup against the Lions on Sunday, according to DallasCowboys.com writer Bryan Broaddus.
Murray missed Week 7 against the Eagles with a knee injury and history is likely to be repeated on Sunday. Rookie Joseph Randle filled in for Murray against Philadelphia and would likely be the starter if the former Oklahoma Sooner was forced to sit with an injury. Randle ran the ball 19 times for 64 yards and caught three passes for 28 yards in his first start. Clearly, he is a downgrade from Murray.
The Cowboys have run a lot of empty-backfield plays and if Murray is out of the lineup, they will likely rely heavily on the passing game with Tony Romo and Dez Bryant.
The Cowboys will be on the road against the Lions at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
