Eli Manning has had a difficult 2013 season with a 1-6 start and an NFL-leading 15 interceptions, but he broke a record on Sunday that makes it easy to remember how good he's been in the past.

Manning surpassed Phil Simms' career Giants passing record in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Simms threw for 33,462 yards in 14 career seasons, a number it took Eli 10 seasons to surpass.
This is the next in a long line of records Manning is sure to break or has broken with the Giants. He already holds the team record for touchdown passes and the longest pass in team history, but somewhat less ceremoniously also needs eight interceptions to tie the team record.
Passing records are nice, but Manning would gladly exchange them for a chance to add a third Super Bowl ring to his collection -- something he wont be able to do this season after the team's poor start.
