The Green Bay Packers are hoping to have their star linebacker back on the field in two weeks, according to ESPN.com.
Clay Matthews injury update: Packers LB could return on Nov. 10
Matthews is thinking about coming back in a few weeks from an injury that has kept him out for a month.

Clay Matthews, who broke his thumb back in Week 5 against the Detroit Lions in a 22-9 win, is getting all of the pins removed on Nov. 4. Should everything go as planned from there, it could only be a few days before he is back in pads making an impact.
Matthews is simply wishing things go well from here, per the article:
“I’m hoping for the best, but it was a unique break,” Matthews told ESPN.com. “I’m praying for the best when they take [the pins] out. It could be as early as Philadelphia. It could be as late as Thanksgiving [at Detroit]. Hopefully, there’s nothing unforeseen when they do that.”
This season, Matthews had racked up three sacks and 18 tackles in four weeks, spearheading the Packers defense. The former USC standout has not played in 16 games since his rookie season, playing in only 12 last year but recording 13 sacks.
Without Matthews, the team has continued to surge in the standings following a 1-2 start. Green Bay topped the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night 44-31, putting it at 5-2 and keeping it atop the NFC North by a half-game over the Lions.
