The Dolphins have only three healthy receivers on the active roster, but Miami isn't expected to pursue a trade for Josh Gordon or Hakeem Nicks, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Dolphins trade rumors: Josh Gordon, Hakeen Nicks not in Miami’s plans per report
Miami lost Brandon Gibson for the season, but the Dolphins aren’t expected to trade for Josh Gordon or Hakeem Nicks.

Miami has a hole to fill with Brandon Gibson now out for the season due to a knee injury. Some speculated the Dolphins could trade for a replacement before the trade deadline at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Gordon and Nicks have been mentioned in trade rumors for weeks, making them obvious targets for speculation. Kenny Britt has also been the subject of trade rumors.
After investing heavily in Mike Wallace and Gibson during the offseason, a trade for Nicks may not make much sense for the Dolphins. New York is reportedly seeking at least a third-round pick in return and Nicks will be an unrestricted free agent after the season. With significant money already invested in the wide receiver group, Miami may not be interested in extending Nicks, making it a high price for half a season.
Gordon is younger and under team control longer, but the price tag would also likely be higher. Multiple teams have reportedly put offers on the table, including two offers involving a high draft pick and a player, but Cleveland has declined thus far.
Instead of giving up assets, Miami may instead fill void by signing a free agent or promoting Nathan Palmer or Ryan Spadola from the practice squad.
