Seahawks vs. Rams 2013 halftime score: Seattle leads, 7-3

The Seahawks offense struggled in the first half, but Seattle leads, 7-3, at halftime.

Andy Lyons

Behind a strong defensive effort, the Seattle Seahawks lead, 7-3, at halftime against the St. Louis Rams.

The defenses were the stars of the first half and both offenses struggled to get much of anything going. The Rams defense dominated Seattle up front early on, holding the Seahawks to minus-1 yard in the first quarter. Russell Wilson was under siege with Seattle's offensive line having major issues blocking Robert Quinn and the rest of the St. Louis defensive line.

St. Louis got on the board early with a field goal on its second possession. Kellen Clemens hit Austin Pettis for a 26-yard pickup, setting up the field goal. The Rams offense found more success than Seattle's, with St. Louis outgaining the Seahawks, 131-38, in the first half. Zac Stacy proved to be very effective in the first half, rushing for 76 yards on 13 carries.

Seattle's defense not only kept the team in the game, but it also helped put Seattle on the scoreboard. Bruce Irvin intercepted a pass to stop a St. Louis drive. Richard Sherman came up with another interception, returning it 38 yards deep into St. Louis territory to set up Seattle's touchdown.

The Seahawks will receive the second-half kickoff.
