Morris Claiborne injury: Cowboys CB targeting Nov. 24 for return

Dallas is hoping to gets Claiborne back after its bye week, in time for the stretch run.

Layne Murdoch

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne is hoping to get back into a game by Nov. 24 against the New York Giants, according to ESPN.com.

Claiborne injured his hamstring versus the Detroit Lions over the weekend and has not been able to practice since. It would be very surprising if he was able to play this week when the Minnesota Vikings come to town. However, the Cowboys then have a bye week, giving Claiborne an extra week to get to full strength.

Claiborne, a former sixth-overall pick by Dallas two years ago, has struggled to stay on the field this season due to performance. He has only amassed 23 tackles and one interception while playing in the nickel role more often than not.

Without Claiborne in the lineup, the Cowboys will turn to Micah Pellerin, who is currently on Dallas' practice squad.
