The Baltimore Ravens released veteran wide receiver Brandon Stokley on Saturday. The move clears a roster spot for tight end Billy Bajema.

Stokley signed a one-year deal with the Ravens in the offseason, returning to the team with which he spent his first four seasons. The 37-year-old enjoyed his best years with Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts, highlighted by 68 catches for 1,077 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2004. After leaving the Colts, played three seasons with the Denver Broncos and had brief stints with the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks. Stokley reunited with Manning and the Broncos last season, recording 45 catches for 544 yards and five touchdowns.

Stokley had just nine catches for 79 yards in three games with the Ravens this season. He missed Week 4 with a groin injury and was not expected to be ready to play this week. Deonte Thompson will step in as the No. 3 receiver after missing last week’s game with a concussion.
