White was a former second-round pick for the Miami Dolphins in 2009. That ended up being his only year in the NFL, however, because he was waived following his rookie season. After a brief stint in the United Football League, he spent two years out of football before signing with the Washington Redskins this past offseason. White originally made the 53-man roster, but was later released to make room for kicker John Potter after Kai Forbath got injured.
The Bills are on the hunt for quarterback help after losing E.J. Manuel to an LCL sprain. Manuel is expected to be out at least four weeks. Undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel is the only other quarterback on the roster and Thaddeus Lewis is on the practice squad.
Tuel faceplanted in his NFL debut against the Cleveland Browns, completing just 8-of-20 passes for 80 yards and a pick six.
