Jerry Jones says Broncos loss a ‘moral victory’ for Cowboys

The Dallas owner, known for vocal chords, is not devastated by his team’s latest loss.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is seemingly happy with a 51-48 loss to the Denver Broncos, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Jones, despite losing a game in which his team held a 14-0 lead, a 48-41 advantage in the fourth quarter, and Tony Romo threw for 500 yards in, was alright with the loss.

A three-time Super Bowl champion as an owner and national champion as a player at Arkansas University, Jones says the defeat is not crushing. Per the piece:

I know what’s going to happen to me when I say this, but that’s a good term,“ Jones said.” This is a morale victory. It’s not a loser talking here. We can build off this. I feel as good as you could possible feel at 2-3. We are going to win enough games to get where we want to be. And get knocking on the door to where we want to be. This was a moral victory to day for us..Yes.”

This is stunning from a man such as Jones, who prides himself on being rhe ultimate competitor. Of course, Jones is the only owner who also serves as his team’s general manager, making personnel decisions with the help of his staff throughout the year.

At 2-3, Dallas is tied with the Philadelphia Eagles for first place in the NFC East and has an inter-division showdown coming up this Sunday night against the struggling Washington Redskins.
