Eagles vs. Giants 2013: Eli Manning playing worst football since rookie year

The Eagles are tied atop the NFC East with the Cowboys after topping the Giants.

Maddie Meyer

In an NFC East battle, the Philadelphia Eagles kept their season alive for all intents and purposes while ending the New York Giants', winning 36-21 on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Even with a hamstring injury to Michael Vick in the second quarter, the Eagles were able to come from behind in the second half with Nick Foles leading the charge. Ultimately, Foles completed 16 of 25 passes for 197 yards and a pair of touchdowns while Eli Manning came apart.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP is having a nightmarish season that continued against Philadelphia. Manning tossed three interceptions, bringing his total to 12 for the season.

Over at Big Blue View, Ed Valentine talks about the struggles Manning has endured this campaign:

He threw three interceptions on consecutive fourth-quarter possessions and added an incredible three intentional grounding penalties. The numbers say Manning completed 24-of-52 passes for 334 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Your eyes tell you that the fourth quarter was about the worst Manning, a two-time Super Bowl MVP, has ever played since his rookie season.

On the flip side, the Eagles are 2-3 but feeling good as they prepare to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation says even with a losing record, head coach Chip Kelly rules:

Despite silly rumors, Kelly probably isn’t going anywhere anytime too soon. The Eagles have a long way to go, but when you consider the disappointing state of other Philadelphia teams, Kelly could be the coach with the best chance of bringing the next championship to this city.
