The same things that always happen to the Jets are continuing to happen to the Jets, but, somehow, they’re actually doing good things with it.
Jets involved in silly plays that are actually benefitting the Jets
No Benny Hill music! They’re blocking punts and making shoestring catches!
First, they made a great special teams play to block a punt on the Falcons’ first possession ... but Atlanta nearly made something out of it when safety Shann Schillinger tried running and passing lefty to a receiver with blockers.
It got stopped about 10 yards short of the first down though, so Geno Smith took over in great field position.
On the Jets’ drive, Smith found Jeff Cumberland for an easy enough catch, but it looked like Cumberland was intent on making a Jets moment out of it:
Not a pick or anything! Just a pinball shoestring catch!
The Jets are up 3-0 early after scoring a field goal.
