We’re five weeks into the 2013-14 NFL season, which means teams are hopefully hitting their stride, rosters are more or less set and, provided the injury bug hasn’t set, teams are content. Of course, that’s in a perfect world, and not every team is where they want to be, and not every player is healthy. Right about this time of the season, we usually see teams making small changes to the roster.
NFL workouts: Raiders bring in quarterbacks Pat White, David Carr; Bears work out Justin Bannan
There were multiple workouts worth noting on Monday and Tuesday in the NFL: Pat White, David Carr and Justin Bannan were among the notable names.

And that means workouts. Monday and Tuesday both saw notable workouts for multiple teams. We’ve got a few of them for you below:
The Oakland Raiders worked out quarterbacks Pat White, David Carr and Trent Edwards on Tuesday. White recently worked out with the Buffalo Bills, who have an injury to quarterback E.J. Manuel. Oakland has Terrelle Pryor as their starter, and released Matt Flynn, his backup. Flynn is dealing with an injury and is a much different quarterback than Pryor. White is more similar and would seem to fit the bill, so if the workout goes well he could certainly be offered a contract.
Carr has been a backup with the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers in past seasons, but hasn't seen the field much. He has a lot of experience backing up good quarterbacks, but also differs significantly from White. Edwards seems more like due diligence than anything. Edwards attempted just two passes with the Eagles as a backup last season.
The Chicago Bears worked out defensive tackle Justin Bannan. They're looking to replace Nate Collins, who was lost for the season with a torn ACL after a game against the New Orleans Saints. Bannan has played 12 years in the NFL, and was released by the Detroit Lions in September.
In addition to Bannan, the highest-profile player, the Bears also worked out some others. They kicked the tires on Myles Wade and Christian Topou, fellow defensive linemen, as well as offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe on Monday. Bannan, as stated, has a lot more experience and could get the call, but we have no idea how the workout went, so one of those other players could certainly be the guy.
Linebacker Mike Taylor worked out with the Green Bay Packers on Monday. It was his first NFL workout since sports hernia surgery in March. He's an undrafted free agent who might have found his way into the late rounds if no for the injury that limited him at the scouting combine. The Packers are always on the lookout for more linebacker depth.
The Kansas City Chiefs are set to work out quarterback Matt Blanchard. He was released by the Bears earlier in the year after injuring his hand in the team's third preseason game. That release came with an injury settlement, meaning he cannot re-sign with the Bears until after Week 10. This would give the Chiefs a good opportunity to sign him if they like his upside as a potential backup to starter Alex Smith.
