Jason Pierre-Paul injury: Giants DE is questionable to return

Pierre-Paul dove for a tackle but ended up coming down hard on his left side.

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was hurt on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders and left the game with a shoulder injury. Pierre-Paul went down with 3:44 left in the first quarter when he dove to make a tackle on running back Rashad Jennings and came down hard on his left shoulder. He walked on his own power into the locker room. His return is questionable.

Pierre-Paul had offseason back surgery but has not missed a regular season game in his career. He did note earlier this season that he was not at 100-percent and likely would not be there until next year. At this time it appears his current ailment is to another area.

After recording 16.5 sacks in 2011, Pierre-Paul has just 7.5 sacks in his last 24 games dating back to the start of the 2012 season. He has only one sack in 2013.

UPDATE: Pierre-Paul has returned to the game in the second quarter
