Riley Cooper injury: Eagles WR leaves game, then returns to score TD

Cooper injured himself on a long touchdown reception in Green Bay, but that wouldn’t keep him out of the end zone for long.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper limped off the field during the third quarter Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, only to return nearly 10 minutes later and score a 32-yard touchdown.

Early in the second half, Cooper caught his fourth touchdown in two games -- a 45-yard diving catch from Nick Foles -- but came up limping after the score. He fell to the ground making the catch, then rolled into the end zone to give the Eagles a 17-3 lead.

Afterwards, Cooper could be seen on the sideline being evaluated by trainers, though the team didn’t announce any specific injury. Then with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter, the wideout re-emerged by snagging another touchdown pass from Foles, his fifth in two games.

Cooper exploded with Foles under center for an injured Michael Vick last week against the Raiders, going for 136 yards and three touchdowns. He has three catches for 102 yards and two scores against the Packers.

DeSean Jackson also has strong numbers for Philly, having caught four balls for 80 yards and a touchdown.
