Nick Foles continued his streaky play from last week, as the Eagles rolled past the Packers and their third-string QB.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsWallace, filling in for the injured Rodgers, was knocked out of the game in the first quarter with a groin injury. Tolzien, who was promoted from the practice squad earlier in the week, went 24-of-39 for 280 yards and a touchdown, but threw a pair of costly interceptions.
The win puts the Eagles at 5-5, while the Packers drop to 5-4.

Brian BahrAfterwards, Cooper could be seen on the sideline being evaluated by trainers, though the team didn’t announce any specific injury. Then with less than a minute remaining in the third quarter, the wideout re-emerged by snagging another touchdown pass from Foles, his fifth in two games.

Gregory ShamusHead coach Mike McCarthy aknowleged some concern over Tolzien’s readiness earlier this week.
“We need to get Scott involved in the drives and give him a little bit, too, because you’ve got to make sure your No. 2 is ready,” McCarthy said, according to the Daily Herald.

Mike McGinnisAlthough the matchup at quarterback may not be what was expected at the start of the season, or even a few weeks ago, the game itself will still have plenty of playoff implications. Both teams are in contention, with Green Bay tied for the NFC North lead and Philadelphia one game back in the NFC East.
The focus in Green Bay has been on the loss of Rodgers, but the Packers are more capable of surviving without their star quarterback than in previous seasons. Rookie Eddie Lacy has given the Packers a legitimate No. 1 running back. With James Starks finally healthy, the Packers run the ball as well as anyone in the NFL. Green Bay is second in the NFL in rushing, averaging 148.6 yards per game.

Phil Sears-USA TODAY SportsThe Eagles’ quarterback battle has been a constant story throughout the season, to the chagrin of head coach Chip Kelly. For the most part, Kelly has been able to avoid making a decision. Vick and Foles have more or less traded places on the inactive list throughout the year.
Despite the doubtful designation, Vick appears to be close to returning, meaning both quarterbacks will be able to dress at the same time. Kelly will have to choose the better man, and coming of a historic performance, Foles has all of the momentum at the moment.

Don McPeak-USA TODAY SportsIt might not be in their best interests to win a game this year. Not that they are in any danger of that. Jacksonville’s closest margin of defeat is 14 points.
So is anyone going to pick Jacksonville to win on Sunday?

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY SportsUnpredictability makes this one of the hardest games to pick this week. Odds are even between the sides, and neither team has been particularly convincing recently. The Eagles are 4-5 against the spread in their last nine games, while Green Bay is slightly more reliable at 5-3, but it’s important to note the Packers are 4-1 against the spread in the last five weeks.
The line is holding even after opening at a -10 for the Packers -- this is the Rodgers factor. Some books are favoring Green Bay by one, but that’s the largest margin being offered at this time. Unreliable defensive units have Sunday’s game pegged to be high scoring; the over/under sits at 46.5.

Ezra ShawFlynn may not be a franchise quarterback, but he knows Green Bay’s offense, which is more than most free agents can offer. If nothing else, he’s a second option if Wallace proves incapable of keeping the ship afloat while Rodgers is away.

Mary Langenfeld-US PRESSWIREUPDATE: Matthews appears set to play Sunday. He was listed as probable on Friday’s injury report, according to NFL.com’s Albert Breer.
Matthews, sidelined since Week 5 with a fractured thumb, and Perry, who broke his foot a week later, both returned to practice in limited capacity on Wednesday and have been cleared to practice fully on Thursday.

Al BelloPut Rodgers on the field against the Eagles, and the Packers are likely favored. Put Seneca Wallace in his place, and prognosticators go the complete opposite direction. After opening the week as 10-point favorites, the Packers are now at even odds to beat the Eagles, according to Odds Shark, if not underdogs.
NFL experts are siding with a surging Eagles team. Four out of six SB Nation experts picked Philadelphia to win. At CBS Sports, seven out of nine experts took Philly. ESPN’s panel was bullish on the Packers, with 8-of-8 members taking Green Bay, though their selections may have come before the official announcement that Rodgers is out. Expect the Eagles to receive some love from the six experts who had yet to pick at press time.

Packers favored over Eagles

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY SportsFoles is the starter going forward, given Michael Vick’s lingering hamstring injury and his own strong play, but he’ll have a tough task of besting Green Bay. Sure, they have a poor secondary, but they are so good at everything else. That’s why Green Bay opened up as 10-point favorites, according to OddsShark.
The line has narrowed throughout the week, due to the loss of quarterback Aaron Rodgers to an unspecified shoulder injury, and a subsequent loss, on Monday Night Football, but with Lambeau Field in their favor, the Packers can still be had favored as high as 9 points on some books. The over/under for the matchup opened at 53. That total has gone over in nine of Philadelphia’s last 12 games, and under in four of Green Bay’s last five.
