Haloti Ngata injury: Ravens DT inactive vs. Bears

The Ravens will be without a key cog in their defensive front Sunday at Soldier Field.

The Baltimore Ravens will be without nose tackle Haloti Ngata when they take on the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

Ngata, a six-foot four, 340-pound cog in the middle of the Ravens' 3-4 defense, has been listed as inactive. He sprained his knee in Baltimore's 20-17 overtime win over the Bengals last week and was listed as questionable heading into the weekend. It's a significant loss for a defense that will face Matt Forte and a Bears offense that ranks seventh in the league with 4.5 yards per carry on the ground. With strong winds in the forecast at Soldier Field, the game will rely even more on the ground game.

The Ravens will also be without wide receivers Marlon Brown and Brandon Stokely, defensive back Omar Brown, center Ryan Jensen, running back Bernard Scott and linebacker John Simon.

Chicago will be without their own nose tackle, as Jay Ratliff has been listed as inactive. Among the other notable holdouts for the Bears are quarterback Jay Cutler and linebacker Lance Briggs. Offensive tackles James Brown and Jonathan Scott, defensive end Shea McClellin and long snapper Patrick Mannelly have also been listed as inactive.
