Broncos vs. Chiefs score update: Peyton Manning helps Denver take 17-10 halftime lead

The Chiefs are down by seven and are in danger of their first loss of the season.

The Denver Broncos have jumped out in front of the Kansas City Chiefs in AFC West on Sunday Night Football.

Peyton Manning has kept the Broncos' offense moving against the best defense in the NFL, helping Denver take a 17-10 lead over Kansas City. Manning threw a long touchdown to Julius Thomas, and Montee Ball also scored a rushing touchdown. The Chiefs were able to generate some pressure, but Manning was getting rid of the football too quickly for the pass rush to get there. He had over 200 yards passing in the first half.

The Chiefs kept pace as best they could in the first half. Dwayne Bowe, who was arrested a week ago, caught Kansas City's only touchdown. Bowe hasn't been too involved in the Chiefs' offense this season, but he has eight targets through one half of football and has caught four of them for 57 yards.

The Broncos will get the football to start the second half.
