Redskins vs. Eagles 2013: Philadelphia stops Washington comeback to win third straight game

Our SB Nation writers are sounding off about the Eagles win at home over the Redskins.

The Eagles are now 6-5, following a well-rounded win over the Redskins at home. Despite this being the Eagles' first win at home, Philadelphia has a winning record after 11 weeks of competition. Nick Foles and the offense scored 24 points without interruption, while the defense was able to hold the Redskins to 16 points throughout the game. A fourth-quarter comeback was not be as the Eagle won the game, 24-16.

Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation is impressed by Nick Foles but believes the team could have had a better performance against their division foes:

Philadelphia's performance wasn't as flawless as it could have been. The Eagles jumped out to a 24-0 lead before letting the Skins seemingly creep back into the game. Chip Kelly's offense struggled to stay on the field in the second half. Washington took advantage and looked like they were going to tie things up late in the game. That was, until Robert Griffin III lobbed a pass into the endzone that was picked off by cornerback Brandon Boykin.

The Eagles' victory was highlighted by another strong outing from young quarterback Nick Foles. Foles threw for 298 yards on 16 of 27 passing (65 percent) and sported a 104.3 passer rating. He also contributed on the ground with 47 yards and 2 TD (numbers which outperformed RGIII!). The second-year player is making a case for himself as the team's next franchise quarterback. For now, Foles is just content with today's victory.

Sean Patterson of Hogs Haven believes that the offensive line needs to give Robert Griffin III more time to throw:

Inability to pass: It is no secret the pocket is non-existent for Robert Griffin III. But where is the play action? Where are the boo legs? Why does Kyle keep calling obvious passing plays on 3rd down and ask Robert to stand in a pocket that is not there? These problems seemed fixed by the fourth quarter (or the Eagles defense was playing soft). Offensive inconsistencies continue to trouble the Redskins.

The Eagles will be on bye in Week 12, while the Redskins will host the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
