After sitting through five losing seasons to start his career and suffering through a pair of frustratingly close campaigns the last couple of years, Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson thought the days of losing were behind him as he headed into 2013. After a franchise-worst eighth consecutive loss dropped the Texans to 2-8 on Sunday, an exasperated Johnson seemed near the end of his rope, according to ESPN.

The All-Pro wide receiver’s frustrations are mounting in Houston, but he says he’s committed to staying in town.

“I’m under contract, so I have to play my contract out,” Johnson said when asked if he planned to stay with the only franchise he’s known in his 11-year NFL career. “I can’t do anything about that.”
Johnson’s current contract runs through the end of the 2016 season, and he brushed off the notion of requesting a trade to exit Houston early.
“I don’t know. I never asked for a trade. Did you hear anything about that?”
After reaching the divisional playoffs in each of the last two seasons, the Texans were expected to be serious contenders for a conference championship, a notion that was bolstered after they began the season 2-0. Injuries and shoddy quarterback play have derailed the team’s postseason hopes, however, and they are in danger of repeating their worst performance since going 2-14 in 2005, Johnson’s third year in the league.
When asked whether he would be willing to sit through more losing seasons in Houston, the six-time Pro Bowler replied, “I’ve always said this is where I wanted to be, so I don’t really have anything to say about that. I still have an ongoing contract.”
Johnson's frustrations boiled over following the Texans' 28-23 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. After Matt Schaub replaced a struggling Case Keenum, Johnson could be seen getting into a heated exchange with Schaub after the game's final play. Both players later downplayed the incident, but there is no doubt Johnson's frustrations are mounting.
