Dashon Goldson injury: Buccaneers safety out vs. Seahawks

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson is set to miss the team’s Week 9 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson did not make the trip to Seattle on Saturday and will not play in the team's Week 9 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, the team announced. Goldson was officially listed as questionable on the Friday injury report with a knee injury.

It is the second consecutive missed game for Goldson, who has played well outside of his multiple penalties this season. He joined the Buccaneers as a free agent this offseason, finally getting the big contract the San Francisco 49ers didn't want to give him.

While Goldson has been good, the Buccaneers as a whole have been poor. They're 0-7 on the season, and haven't been in a competitive game since a Week 2 loss to the New Orleans Saints. They have the No. 19 pass defense, allowing 243.9 yards per game, and the No. 7 rush defense, allowing 94.6 rushing yards per game. Goldson is great against the run, so he's definitely contributed to that high mark.

Keith Tandy is Goldson's backup at the free safety spot.
