NFL injuries, NFC South: Darrelle Revis hurts groin

Tampa Bay is coming on strong late in the season, but watched its best defensive player sustain an injury.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Detroit Lions 24-21 on Sunday, winning their third straight game.

The only downer of the day came in the first half when cornerback Darrelle Revis went down with a groin injury. Revis, who has been healthy all season after tearing his ACL last September, was covering Calvin Johnson before having to exit.

In Thursday night's game between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons, a few bumps and bruises were issued. Atlanta defensive back Desmond Trufant suffered a thigh injury after some friendly fire courtesy of a William Moore hit. For the Saints, defensive end Glen Foster had to leave with a leg injury.

The Carolina Panthers were lucky to get out of their win over the Miami Dolphins without any obvious injuries. They will host Tampa Bay next week before visiting the Saints on Sunday Night Football.
