Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas could be out for the remainder of the season with a high ankle sprain, according to Tom Pelissero.
Daniel Thomas injury: Dolphins RB could miss season
Miami suffered a tough defeat on Sunday and now might be without its running back for the duration.

Thomas was injured in defeat against the Carolina Panthers and had to be carted off the field to the locker room. The former Kansas State star will at least be out for a couple of weeks while the 5-6 Dolphins try to earn the AFC's final playoff spot. They are currently tied with the Tennessee Titans, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers. In other words, it's a race.
This season, Thomas has 279 rushing yards on 77 carries. In his career, Thomas only has seven touchdowns to his credit against five fumbles.
According to the Miami Sun-Sentinel, Thomas also tore a ligament in the ankle. Without Thomas, the importance of Lamar Miller continues to be stressed. Miami has perhaps the worst offensive lines in football, especially with the absences of Jonathan Martin and Richie Incognito. Without a solid running game, Ryan Tannehill is in all sorts of danger.
